Let there be... listening

Let there be... listening Let there be...

There’s a difference between hearing and listening.

Hearing happens in the background.
Listening requires intention.

In a world of constant noise, scrolling, notifications, and half-finished thoughts, music has quietly become something we consume rather than something we encounter. It fills space, but rarely transforms it.

But vinyl asks something different of us.

It asks us to choose.
To place the needle.
To sit.
To stay.

There’s no skipping ahead with a swipe. No algorithm deciding what comes next. Just a beginning, a middle, and an end. A story unfolding at human pace.

And something happens in that slowing.

You start to notice the breath between phrases.
The crackle before the first chord.
The way a chorus lifts not just the melody, but you.

Listening becomes presence.
Presence becomes reflection.
Reflection becomes something deeper, sometimes even prayer.

This is why Let there be... exists.

Not simply to sell records.
But to reclaim the art of attention.

To create small rooms in our homes, and in our hearts, where music isn’t background noise, but a companion. Where albums aren’t content, but conversation. Where the simple act of sitting with a song becomes a quiet act of resistance against hurry.

Let there be listening.

Let there be space.

Let there be music that meets us where we are, and gently carries us somewhere new.
